Liver (pig) Slide 68 (H & E)

This is a slide of the liver of the pig in which the liver lobules are demonstrated.

Clinical case
During a physical exam, the doctor noticed a change in the feel of the liver and an enlargement of the liver.

The patient also complains of fatigue, weakness and exhaustion, a loss of appetite and weight loss. The patient appears slightly jaundiced. The doctor suspects cirrhosis, which is is confimed with a blood test and a needle biopsy.
